- The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was established on 8 February 1956 under the Act of Parliament 1956.
- The Act defines the objectives and functions of the institutions and grants autonomous status to AIIMS in India.
- In the year 2013, the Government of India had announced the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) initiative to correct the regional imbalance in the availability of affordable and reliable tertiary health services.
- As of April 2022, there are 24 AIIMS campuses in India out of which 19 are functional and rest are under construction.

Admission Procedure in AIIMS MBBS Course
Admission to MBBS, candidate should have completed 10+2 with 60% with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects from recognized board. The candidate should have completed 17 years on the important date mentioned in the form. For admission to MBBS, the candidate must appear for neet-ug entrance exam and should attend the counselling for final seat allotment.
How to Apply for NEET-UG To Get Admission In AIIMS
The National Eligibility Entrance Test (UG) 2022 will be conducted on July 17, 2022. The application will start from April 7, 2022, admit card will be released on July 10, 2022.
- Candidates can apply online for NEET-UG 2022 through the official website of NEET-UG (http://neet.nta.nic.in).
- You have to follow 3 simple steps to apply online.
- Register for the online application form first and note down the application number generated from the system and create a password for future login.
- Login with system generated application number and password and fill the application form with all the details.
- Must Fill Correct Details .
- Candidates have to pay the application fee to the debit card/debit card.
- Credit Card/ Credit Card UPI/ Net Banking / Net Banking Paytm option has to be selected and follow the online instructions to complete the payment of fee.
- After Payment Take Print Out Of application Form.
