TNPSC 2021 Group 1 Exam Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

  • Citizen of India
  • The subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  • Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, for permanent residence
  • Indian origin who has migrated from countries like Burma, Vietnam, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire and Ethiopia for permanent residence
  • Candidates who are under the categories 3 or 5, subject of Nepal or Bhutan should obtain a certificate of eligibility provided by the Government of Tamil Nadu

Educational Qualification

  • Graduate Degree from a recognized university or equivalent
  • The educational institute established by an Act of Parliament
  • Deemed University under section 3, UGC Act 1956

Age Limit

  • The TNPSC age limit for its TNPSC Group 1 exams for all posts other than that of the Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Taxes) is 32 years of age for all general candidates, and for those with a B.L., it is 33 years.
  • There is a TNPSC age limit relaxation of 5 years for all candidates belonging to the ST, SC, SC (A), and other backward communities as per last recruitment notification.

Age Limit

  • The minimum TNPSC exam age limit is 18 years to apply for the exams to all TNPSC Group 2 posts except that of the Sub-registrar Grade-II, the Probation officer in the Prison Department, and Probation Officer in the Social Defence department.
  • The maximum age limit is 30 years.
  • For the exceptions mentioned above, the minimum age limit is 20, 22, and 26 years respectively, while the maximum age limit is 30.
  • For candidates belonging to the ST, SC, SC (A), Destitute Widows, Most Backward Classes, Backward Classes (Muslims), and other Denotified Communities, there is no maximum age limit to apply as per last recruitment pattern.

  • The lower bound of the TNPSC age limit to apply for Group 4 exams is 18 years
  • The upper bound varies according to the quota of the candidate as per the last recruitment pattern.
  • The maximum age limit for a General candidate is 30 years, for candidates belonging to Most Backward Classes, Denotified Communities, Backward Classes, and Backward classes (Muslims) is 32 years
  • For the candidates belonging to the ST, SC, SC (A) communities and Destitute Widows of all castes is 35 years as per last recruitment pattern.

TNPSC Civil Service Exam Main Selection Process

  • After the result declaration of the TNPSC Main examination, the qualified candidates need to appear for yet another round, namely Personality Test or Interview.
  • This test is the final round in the whole procedure of selecting candidates suitable for the Tamil Nadu civil services. F
  • or the selection of a candidate, the combined scores of all the tests would be considered.

Application Process

  • The application procedure for TNPSC Civil services preliminary exam starts with filling the online application form from the official website of TNPSC itself.
  • After the results for the Preliminary exams are declared, candidates become eligible to apply for appearing in the Mains exam.
  • The procedure includes submitting a hard copy of the online application, along with photocopies of other documents on or before the stipulated deadline.

TNPSC Main Exam Pattern

  • The TNPSC Mains exam is a subjective type exam and comprises two compulsory papers as mentioned below.
  • The mode of exam is offline (paper-based). The total marks for Paper I are 100 and for Paper II, it is 300.

 Personality Test (Interview)

  • The candidates, who qualify for the preliminary, as well as mains exam, are selected for the interview.
  • The candidate is judged on the basis of his mental alertness, clear and logical exposition, critical powers of assimilation, etc.
  • This test carries 40 marks. Mains exam and personal interview together make a total of 340 marks.
  • The minimum qualifying marks for the mains exam and the interview is 102 out of 340.

TNPSC Admit Card 2021 : TNPSC Study Material PDF

The admit card of the TNPSC 2021 exam will be issued on the official website. The date of issue of the hall ticket will be updated in the official notification by the authorities. The exam conducting is not responsible to send the admit card to all the registered candidates of TNPSC .

Steps to Download the Admit Card of TNPSC

  • Visit the official website of TNPSC
  • Choose the link to the TNPSC group for which you have applied
  • Enter the registered login ID and password
  •  Now click on the link to download the TNPSC admit card
  • Download the admit card and check all the necessary details as the date of birth, name, gender, roll number, exam date, time, sign, exam center, candidate’s category, etc.
  • Now, take out the print to carry at the exam center of TNPSC . (A valid Id card is mandatory for all the candidates to carry at the exam center along with the admit card of TNPSC 2021)
