• Teachers’ Day in India is celebrated as the birthday of former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

In India, Teacher’s Day is celebrated on the 5th of September since 1962. This day is celebrated to mark the birthday of a great teacher and lecturer Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was a scholar and freedom fighter who made India proud globally. He served as the first Indian lecturer in Oxford University and later represented India at UNESCO. He was the first vice president and second president of independent India. And hence our nation celebrates teacher’s day to honor him and all the teachers today.

Teachers are the guides in our lives. They are the people who make sure that children of the nation are well educated and contribute in nation-building. It is a noble profession which grows and supports every other profession in this world. They are the building blocks of our society who forms personalities and humanity.
