RRB NTPC Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

  • An Indian citizen
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  • A Tibetans who came over India before 1st January 1962 who was intended to settle in India Permanently.
  • The candidates who are migrated from Pakistan, Srilanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia Ethiopia, Vietnam, Burma with the intention of settling in India permanently.

RRB NTPC Education Qualification

  • RRB NTPC recruitment is done for different posts, which have different minimum educational qualification requirements.
  • Educational requirements for undergraduate and graduate-level posts are mentioned in the table.

Experience

  • No prior experience is required for the RRB NTPC Recruitment.
  • The candidate must satisfy all the eligibility criteria like age, educational qualification, nationality, and required proficiency for the post.

Age limit of RRB NTPC 

  •  The age limit of the candidates who are applying for undergraduate posts must be between 18-30 years of age.
  • The age limit of the candidates who are applying for Graduate posts must be between 18-33 years of age. As of 1st July 2021, the lower and upper age limit is common for all the notified posts.
  • The relaxation in the upper age limit for RRB NTPC for the various categories is shown in the table below and is dependent on the submission of requisite certificates.

Typing Proficiency for Specific Posts in RRB NTPC 2021

  • This test is not compulsory for all the posts but is conducted for the posts whose working profile involves extensive typing.
  • These posts are Junior Accounts Assistant – cum – Typist, Senior Clerk – cum Typist, and Sr. Time Keeper.
  • While the writing capability is not required at the season of composing the Computer Based Test, a qualifying exam called, Typing Skill Test is directed on the off chance that you are shortlisted for the position, in the second round.
  • You should ensure that you are able to comfortably achieve the following typing proficiency after disabling editing and spell-check tools:
    • English Language Typing: 30 words per minute
    • Hindi Language Typing: 25 words per minute in Kruti Dev or Mangal font.

RRB NTPC Medical Standard

  • The candidates who are called up for the final selection will have to pass a requisite medical fitness test(s) conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post(s) opted by them.
  • The medical tests are very strict for Railway NTPC Qualification. Without qualifying the medical test, no candidate will be deemed fit for the job.
  • The medical requirements for RRB NTPC Qualification for different categories are given below:

RRB NTPC Application Fee

  • The application fees can be paid both offline and online.
  • Online payment can be made via Net banking, Credit/ Debit/ Rupay/ Visa/ Master Card.
  • Offline payment of RRB NTPC application fees can be made via E-challan where cash is to be deposited at SBI bank.

RRB NTPC Selection Process

  • The aspirants who will be able to obtain the cutoff marks of the 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) will go through the below-mentioned selection process.

CBAT of RRB NTPC

  • The candidates need to secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks to qualify.
  • This applies to all candidates irrespective of category and no relaxation in the minimum T- Score is permissible.
  • Candidates will have to qualify in each of the test batteries of CBAT for considering them for the post of SM/TA.
  • The CBAT will have questions and answer options only in English and Hindi.
  • There will be no negative marking in CBAT.
  • Merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the CBAT, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the 2nd Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in CBAT.

Typing skill test

  • Qualifying in nature.
  • Eight times the number of vacancies will be called for the typing test.
  • The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only without editing tools and spell check facility. 

RRB NTPC Medical Standards

Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the prescribed Medical Standards for the post(s) for which they have applied. For this, they should refer to the medical standards for each post. Candidates found medically unsuitable for the applied post(s) will not be given any alternative appointment. Check the RRB NTPC Medical Standards

RRB NTPC Document Verification
  • Candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification.
  • Based on the performance of candidates in CBT II and based on the performance of candidates in both 2nd Stage CBT and CBT/TEST (as applicable),
  • candidates equal to 50% (may increase or decrease at the sole discretion of RRBs) of the number of vacancies for various posts.

  • The RRB NTPC Exam is conducted for 100 marks.

  • The duration of the RRB NTPC 1st Stage CBT Exam is 90 Minutes.
  • The duration of the RRB NTPC 1st Stage CBT Exam for the PWD exam is 120 minutes.

Typing Skill Test (TST)

  • Typing skill test is conducted for Senior Clerk Cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk, Junior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk Cum typist.
  • The typing Skill test is Qualifying in nature.
  • The candidate should type at least 30 WPM in English of 25 WPM in Hindi on a personal computer only.
  • Without any editing tools.
  • For candidates who are giving the typing test in Hindi, Kruti Dev, and Mangal, the font will be made available for the candidates on their personal computer during the exam.
  • For candidates who have a disability of boundlessness or low vision of not less than 40% will have to get a certificate issued from the Competent Medical Board and for such candidates, the merit will be based on the 2nd stage of CBT.

RRB NTPC Document Verification 

The candidates will be called for document verification based on their performance in the 2nd stage CBT exam. The candidates who miss the Document verification will not be considered for the Merit list. The candidates need to show the original documents like SSC Marksheet, Minimum educational qualification certificate, Experience Certificates(if any), Category Certificate, etc.

  • Matriculation/High School certificate or it’s equivalent for the proof of Date of birth.
  • The +2/Inter/Graduation Certificate.
  • Category Certificate for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.
  • Jammu and Kashmir Domicile Certificate, if applicable.
  • Self-declaration certificate by the Transgender.
  • Death Certificate of the husband for the widow candidates.
  • NOC Certificate for the serving employees and Defence Personnel(Ex-Servicemen).
  • Income Certificate for EWS candidates.
