List Of Leaders Who left Congress Party Today In 2022 – Full List – The Congress, the oldest party in Indian politics, seems to be facing its existential crisis in recent times. We are not saying this but the list of leaders who have dropped out of the party points to the dismal state of affairs of the party. The Narendra Modi wave not only led the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to two consecutive landslide victories in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but also hurt several opposition parties. The Congress is suffering the most. The party recorded its worst electoral performance in these two elections only when its tally was reduced to 44 and 52 seats respectively. The party was not even in a position to elect the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha as it missed the eligibility criteria of having at least 10 per cent seats in the House.
Veteran leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, two days after 39-year-old Jaiveer Shergill resigned, became the latest to quit the grand old party. Azad resigned from all party posts, including his primary membership, dealing another blow to the beleaguered party, which has deserted a range of leaders. In a five-page letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he said he does so with a heavy heart.
